Deleting your data

Everything QuoteNod holds about you, how long it is kept, and how to have it removed.

What is held

Your account details — name, business name, email, phone and address. The quotes and invoices you have written, including your customers' names, addresses and the prices you quoted. Signatures your customers drew on the screen, kept as pictures against the quote they signed. The PDFs as they were sent. Payment requests and what came back. Anything you asked Nod, and anything you wrote to support.

How long it is kept

For as long as you have an account. Records of what was quoted, signed, invoiced and paid are business records — yours, and in the case of what we charged you, ours — and are kept for six years, which is how long the law says they must be kept. We do not remove them from an open account; you can erase a customer yourself at any time, and the GDPR page says exactly what that destroys and what it leaves.

If you move your data to another QuoteNod account, it is moved rather than copied: once the transfer has run it is removed from your account and no longer visible there. You can recall a transfer for 48 hours after confirming it, not after. Transfer your data.

When you close your account, nothing is deleted for three months. Log in again in that time and it reopens exactly as it was, your customers' records included. After 90 days it is deleted permanently and cannot be recovered. If you ask us to skip the three months, we will.

Deleting it yourself

If you can sign in, this is the quickest way: Account → Delete my account. You will be asked for your password, and everything goes on the thirty-day clock described above. You can download a copy of everything first from the same page.

Asking us to delete it

If you cannot sign in — you have lost the password, or the account was opened with an email you no longer use — fill this in and we will do it for you. We will check it is really you before anything is deleted, which may mean asking you a question only the account holder could answer.

This does not delete anything on its own. It tells us to, and we check it is you first.

What we cannot delete

Invoices you have raised are business records, and both you and your customers may need them for tax. Where the law requires us to keep a record of a transaction we will keep the minimum of it and nothing else. Everything not covered by that goes.

Data from Facebook or Instagram

QuoteNod does not collect anything about you from Facebook or Instagram. The only social accounts it connects to are QuoteNod's own, used to publish QuoteNod's own posts. If you believe we hold something that came from one of those platforms, use the form above and we will tell you exactly what we have.

Someone to ask

Write to us and a person will answer. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
