Fee schedule

Everything QuoteNod can charge you, on one page. There are no set-up fees, no charge for sending quotes, and nothing is ever added to what your customer pays.

Charge How much How it is paid
Subscription After a 14-day free trial: Solo £12 a month or £115 a year (one person); Crew £29 a month or £290 a year (five people); Firm £59 a month or £590 a year (fifteen people, every add-on included). Prices exclude VAT. Founding members pay no subscription for their first 3 months, then £12 for everything. Your card, monthly or yearly
Extra people £4 a person a month past the five on Crew (up to ten) or the fifteen on Firm On your subscription bill, by the month they are on the account
Add-ons (Solo and Crew) £5 a month each for your name only and the signature block; £10 a month for social posting (20 posts a month, then 95p a post). Included on Firm. On your subscription bill, monthly
Changing package Up, within 7 days of renewal: the difference, today, same renewal date. Up, earlier: the new price today and a new renewal date. Down: nothing, from your renewal date. The package you left is never charged again. Your card, at the moment you confirm
QuoteNod’s fee on a payment £1.25 on a payment over £50.00, or £0.65 on a payment of £50.00 or under — on every payment your customer completes through your Stripe or GoCardless account, and every payment you record as taken on your own card reader Through Stripe or GoCardless: taken by your provider out of the payment, as it is made. On your own card reader: added to your QuoteNod fees and collected from your card every 48 hours, or on your next subscription bill if you have chosen that under Settings
QuoteNod’s contract fee £1.00 per signed contract — not charged when the job’s first payment goes through a payment link Added to your next subscription bill
Stripe’s own fee Pay by bank 0.5% + 20p, never more than £5. Cards 1.5% + 20p. Stripe, under your agreement with them
GoCardless’s own fee 1% + 20p, never more than £4. GoCardless, under your agreement with them

Card fees have no cap. On a £5,000.00 payment, Stripe takes £5.00 if your customer pays by bank — but £75.20 if they pay by card, because card fees have no cap. On a £5,000.00 payment, GoCardless takes £4.00.

Largest single payment: £10,000.00 with Stripe, £25,000.00 with GoCardless. Connect both and any payment over £10,000.00 goes through GoCardless automatically (up to £25,000.00), whichever you choose as your default. Anything bigger than your connected providers take, your customer is shown your bank details and pays by bank transfer, with no payment fee.

Payment plans are charged per payment. Each payment carries QuoteNod’s fee as it completes: £1.25 per payment, or £0.65 on a payment of £50.00 or less — a plan of 4 payments of £100 is £5.00. Payments that never happen carry none.

The contract fee is decided by the job’s first payment. Paid through QuoteNod (a payment link): no contract fee. Paid any other way (cash, a bank transfer, a cheque, your own card reader): the contract fee is charged. Nothing paid within 30 days of signing: the contract fee is charged then. Every contract fee — charged, waiting or not charged — is listed under Finance, with the job, the customer, when it was signed, and the signed contract.

Stripe’s and GoCardless’s fees are theirs, as they publish them; your agreement with your provider decides what they charge.

What is never charged

Why payment links, not Direct Debit

QuoteNod sends your customer a payment link for each payment rather than setting up a Direct Debit. A bank payment through a link reaches you sooner than the 3 working days or so a Direct Debit takes, cannot be claimed back under the Direct Debit Guarantee, and never bounces with a failed-payment charge. Your customer approves each payment, and QuoteNod reminds them before, on and after each due date.

QuoteNod’s fees are not refundable. We give at least 30 days’ notice by email before introducing a charge or increasing a price, and an increase to the subscription never applies to a renewal that falls inside those 30 days — it starts from the renewal after. See sections 5b, 5b(i) and 5c of the Terms of Service.
