Yes. Settings › More › Take the tour again. Nod walks you round every part of QuoteNod with a practice quote, on your phone or your computer. Nothing in the tour is saved or charged, and it takes about eight minutes — stop it whenever you like.

No. They tap the link you send, read the quote in their browser, and sign with their finger. Nothing to install, nothing to sign up for.

QuoteNod installs from the browser: open the site, then Android Chrome: menu ⋮ → “Add to Home screen”; iPhone/iPad Safari: share button → “Add to Home Screen”. It opens full-screen with its own icon, like any app.

Use Feedback & ideas (linked from your Account page). Problems, ideas and support requests all land with a person, and replies come back both in your account and by email.

No — your customers pay you directly: online through your own Stripe or GoCardless account, or by bank transfer. QuoteNod records the payment but never holds it. Deposits and payment plans are agreements between you and your customer.

£1.25 per payment over £50, or £0.65 on a payment of £50 or under, as each one is made — so a plan of 4 payments of £100 is £5 in QuoteNod fees, and 4 payments of £40 is £2.60. It is taken automatically by your Stripe or GoCardless account, on top of their own fee. Payments that never happen carry no fee.

There is nothing to give back: QuoteNod’s fee is only taken on payments that actually happen. If your customer clears the rest in one payment, that payment carries one fee and the payments that no longer happen carry none. Fees already taken are not refundable.

You can ask. Open the job, choose “Change the payment plan” and send “one payment” for signing — your customer has to sign it, because they agreed to instalments when they approved the quote. Your customer can also choose to clear the rest in one payment themselves, from a button on their payment page.

The deposit is the plan's first payment, taken when your customer approves, and it is the sign your customer means it. So a plan always has a deposit of at least £50, with at least £100 left to spread after it: the smallest job a plan can go on is £150.

Payment fees through a link you don’t pay separately: your Stripe or GoCardless account takes QuoteNod’s fee (£1.25 on a payment over £50, or £0.65 on £50 or under) out of each payment as it is made. The same fee on a payment you record as taken on your own card reader goes on your usage fees, collected from your card every 48 hours. The £1 contract fee, when there is one, goes on your next subscription bill. Every fee is listed under Finance — tap Expenses or QuoteNod fees to see each one with its job, customer, date and time, and the signed contract.

Every quote your customer signs gets a tamper-evident contract record and signed PDFs for both of you. If the job’s first payment goes through a payment link, that payment’s fee covers it and there is no contract fee. If the first payment is made any other way (cash, a bank transfer, a cheque, your own card reader), or nothing is paid within 30 days of signing, the contract fee is £1, added to your next bill. Deleting the quote afterwards does not remove it. Founding members pay it too — their 3 months’ free access covers the subscription, not the fees.

Because payment links are better for you on building work. A bank payment through a link reaches you sooner than the 3 working days or so a Direct Debit takes; it cannot be claimed back under the Direct Debit Guarantee; and it never bounces with a failed-payment charge (Stripe charges £4 for a failed Direct Debit). Your customer approves each payment, and QuoteNod reminds them the day before, on the day, and if it is late. The one thing Direct Debit does better is collect without the customer doing anything — the reminders are there to make up for it.

Yes, politely and to a limit. Each payment gets a reminder with its link the day before it is due and again on the day, then three more if the date passes — at three days, ten days and twenty-one. After that QuoteNod stops, and you get an email the morning anything goes past its date so you can pick up the phone.

Free for your first 14 days with everything included, then £12/month or £115/year (two months free). On top of that, only QuoteNod’s fees: £1.25 per payment over £50 your customer makes online or you record on your own card reader (£0.65 on £50 or under), and £1 for a signed contract whose job is not paid through a payment link. Yes — electronic signatures are valid for agreements like these under UK law. QuoteNod also records exactly what was signed, when, and by whom, and seals the record so any change is detectable — which is the part that matters in a dispute.

Open the quote: the audit trail shows created → sent → viewed → signed → approved with timestamps, and you both hold the same signed PDF with a tamper-evident hash. The exact contract text, deposit, and payment choice they agreed to are frozen inside it.

Not while its link is live — that protects both sides. Revoke the link, then duplicate the quote to fix and resend. Once a quote is signed it can never be edited by anyone, including us.

Tell us straight away: email contact@quotenod.co.uk with DATA BREACH and your QuoteNod User ID (on your Account page) in the subject — or choose Report a data breach on the contact form. Say what happened, when, which customers may be affected and what you have done. Then change your password, turn on two-factor authentication and sign out any device you no longer control. As the controller of your customers’ data you may need to report it to the ICO within 72 hours; we will help. The full steps are in our Data Breach Policy.

Yes — from Account → Move to another QuoteNod account, by asking Nod, or from the contact form. The other account must already exist, be open, have no work of its own yet, and accept. You can recall the transfer for 48 hours after confirming it, not after; it then runs automatically and can take up to 72 hours. Once it has run, everything is removed from your old account. See Moving your data to another QuoteNod account.

Everything stays readable and exportable forever — quotes, signed records, PDFs. You just can’t send new quotes without a subscription. You can download a full ZIP of your data from the Account page at any time.

Use “Forgot your password?” on the log-in page — we email you a link that works once, for an hour. You can also change your password anytime from the Account page.
