Connect QuickBooks or FreeAgent

You can carry on downloading a spreadsheet — nothing here replaces that. A connection just means the invoices go across on their own, into your own account with your own accounting package.

  1. Open For your accountant, pick QuickBooks or FreeAgent, and press Connect.

  2. Read what it will send — and what it will not — then continue and sign in to your accounting package. Nothing is sent by connecting.

  3. On the settings page, choose the product or service the lines are posted against and your VAT code. QuickBooks will not take an invoice without the first.

  4. Decide what happens to payments: nothing at all, matched to money already in the account (FreeAgent only), or recorded as well. If your bank feeds that account already, recording as well puts the money in twice. FreeAgent tells QuoteNod which accounts are on a feed, and the option is taken away for those; QuickBooks will not tell any app, so there you have to know. Neither can see statements you upload by hand.

You can disconnect at any time, which destroys the access straight away. What has already gone across stays in your accounts: QuoteNod cannot reach in and take it out again.
