Offering a payment plan

Some customers say yes faster when they can spread the cost. Set the plan on the quote and QuoteNod does the rest: a link per payment, reminders before and after each date, and a nudge to you when one is late.

  1. In the quote builder, set your deposit — a plan always starts with one, and it has to be at least £50. There also has to be at least £100 left to spread after it, so the smallest job you can offer a plan on is £150.

  2. Set the schedule in Offer a payment plan: weekly, every two weeks, monthly or your own dates and amounts, from 2 payments up to 120 — or press Work it out from what they can pay and enter what your customer can manage, how often, and the day they prefer. The wording your customer signs is generated from it, so it always matches the dates you will be paid on.

  3. The signing page makes your customer choose: pay in full or your plan. They cannot sign without choosing, and their choice is locked into the signed record.

  4. The moment they approve, QuoteNod emails them the link for the deposit. Every later payment gets its own link, a reminder the day before and on the day, and up to three reminders if it goes past its date — then it stops.

  5. If a payment does go past its date, you get an email that morning and it appears in Activity, so you can ring them yourself.

  6. Your customer can clear the rest of the plan in one payment whenever they like, from a button on any of their payment pages. You can also propose replacing the plan with a single payment — they have to sign that, because they agreed to instalments.

If you take payment online, QuoteNod’s fee is £1.25 on each payment over £50, or £0.65 on a payment of £50 or under, as it is made — a plan of 4 payments of £100 is £5 — taken automatically by your Stripe or GoCardless account on top of their own fee. Payments that never happen carry no fee. The plan itself is an agreement between you and your customer: QuoteNod does not provide credit, and the money goes to you, never to QuoteNod.
