Asking for a deposit

A deposit stated on the quote becomes part of what your customer signs — so there’s never a dispute about whether it was agreed.

  1. In the quote builder, set Deposit due on approval to a percentage of the total or a fixed amount.

  2. It appears prominently on the signing page and both PDFs — “Deposit due on approval: £85.95 · remaining £257.85 on completion”.

  3. Your customer pays you directly — online through your own Stripe or GoCardless account, or by bank transfer using the details in Settings. QuoteNod doesn’t take the money.

When you convert the job to an invoice later, the deposit is automatically shown as deducted, with the balance due.
