Quote extra work you find on a job

Extra work is not a new job. It belongs to the one you are standing in, and quoting it that way keeps one customer with one set of paperwork instead of two unrelated documents.

  1. Open the job. Under Extra work on this job, tap Quote extra work — it only appears once the customer has agreed to the original.

  2. The new quote opens with their details already filled in. Add the lines for what you found, and send it exactly as you would any other quote.

  3. It is numbered from the job: Bathroom becomes Bathroom - 001. The original picks up - 000 so the two read as a pair.

  4. When they agree, choose where the money goes — onto the payment plan already running, asked for in full, or a plan of its own.

If they say no, that is recorded too. The invoice for the work they did agree to carries a note saying what you recommended and that they decided against it — which is the record that matters if it turns out to have mattered.
